Direct Digital Manufacturing

3D Printing makes mostly parts, not products. 3D Manufacturing, aka Direct Digital Manufacturing (DDM), is the manufacture of fully functioning products (as well as parts), such as electronic devices, directly from CAD files in a single machine with automatic tool changes. The nScrypt Factory in a Tool (FiT) platform empowers users to 3D manufacture products, not just parts.

nScrypt’s FiT platform combines microdispensing, Material Extrusion (FDM or FFF), micro-milling, and pick and place tool heads with multiple cameras for automated in-process inspection and computer vision routines, a point laser height sensor for mapping surfaces for conformal printing, an automated PulseForge 1300 photonic curing system, and a femtosecond laser for cutting or sintering materials. With this powerful and robust system you can print a complex conformal antenna, followed by the structure, housing, and circuits of an electronic device with embedded electronic components, followed by a complex bracket, by simply changing the CAD file, with no human interaction with the tool.
